Overpass: The Complete Guide to the Legendary Map and 3D Printed Model

Hey gamers! Youngtendo from youngtendo.fun is back with a real treat – a 3D printed model of the Overpass map from the latest version of Counter-Strike 2. This classic is so iconic that you simply have to have a replica of it at home. In this guide, I'll show you everything from the history to the design to all the callouts that let you navigate the map by hand at home. Let's go!

How it all began

The Overpass map first appeared in 2013 as part of the Winter Offensive update for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. It was created by Valve in collaboration with designers Magnar Jenssen and Lydia Zanotti, and quickly became one of the key maps in the competitive scene. In CS2 (released in 2023), Overpass received improved lighting, modernized textures, and minor tweaks, but its basic layout remained faithful to the original. As of April 2024, Overpass remains a fixture in the active map pool, and in July 2024, new crates and minor improvements were added around Bombsite B, which affected the strategy of the game.

Design and environment

Overpass takes place in a modern city park in Berlin, Germany, with a canal, bridges, and subways. The CT Spawn is near Bombsite A, where a military convoy is stranded, while the T Spawn is down by the canal. The map is divided into two main levels: the upper park area and the lower canal with tunnels. Bombsite A is more open, with plenty of space and cargo, while Bombsite B is more enclosed, surrounded by tunnels and narrow entrances. Players can take a variety of routes – from bridges to tunnels to stairs – and the map is known for its vertical gameplay and graffiti-adorned walls.

Our 3D printed version captures all of these details – from the bridge to the stranded truck – and is perfect for fans and tactical enthusiasts alike.

Interesting things that will get you

Overpass is full of little things that make it unique. For example, the “Fnatic boost” at Bombsite A, famous from DreamHack Winter 2014, became a legendary moment in CS:GO history when the Fnatic team used the exploit to their advantage (it was later fixed). Graffiti on the walls, such as “No Smoking” or artistic spray paint, add character to the map. In CS2, they added subtle details, such as the moving truck at Bombsite A, which can serve as dynamic cover. Our 3D replica includes these elements, so you can explore every corner of the map.
