Mirage: The Complete Guide to the Legendary Map and 3D Printed Model

Hey gamers! Youngtendo from youngtendo.fun is back with another batch of info sheets, this time for our new 3D printed Mirage map! This Counter-Strike staple is a must-have on your shelf, and I'm going to tell you everything you need to know about it - from its history to its interesting facts to all the callouts you'll find on it. So let's get started!

How it all began

Mirage first appeared in June 2013 as part of CS:GO, but its roots go back even further – it was originally a community map de_cpl_strike by Michaer "BubkeZ" Hull. Valve took it, improved it and made it one of the most played maps ever. Since then, it has been a fixture in the active map pool and has been played at every Major Championship. With the arrival of Counter-Strike 2 in September 2023, Mirage got a new coat – better graphics and engine, but the layout remained untouched. And now, as of March 2025, it is still in top form – in February 2024, for example, they adjusted the spawn priorities for Premier and Competitive modes, which changed the tactics a bit, especially for CT.

Our 3D printed version reflects this current form - it's an exact replica of the Mirage as you know it from CS2, so you have a piece of this legend at home in its latest state.

Design and environment

Mirage is a symmetrical map with two bombsites – A and B – and a center that is key to controlling the game. It has three main routes: A Ramp and Palace from T Spawn to A, B Apartments to B, and Mid, which is the middle link between everything. The environment is inspired by the Middle East, specifically Morocco – a sandy vibe, traditional architecture, and earthy tones. Bombsite A is open with a palace-like structure, while Bombsite B is more enclosed, set in an apartment complex full of hiding places. And oh yeah, that white van on B is there too – perfect for climbing or taking cover!

Our 3D printed map captures it all in minute detail – from the palace to the boxes and barrels that serve as tactical positions. It’s a great piece for fans and a great tool for understanding the layout.

Interesting things that will get you

Mirage is full of little things that make it memorable. The UB Van has a graffitied AWP with wings and skulls - it's a throwback to Marcel "coldzer" David's crazy jump AWP shot from the 2016 MLG Columbus Major. Then there are the two TVs with color bars in the B Apartments - shoot them and they go black, which is a really fun detail. And what about the car with the "America" license plate outside the play area by the T Spawn? That's a prop taken from Left 4 Dead 2, which is a nice easter egg.

We've highlighted these features in our 3D version - the graffiti, TV and car are all there in full display, so you can see them up close.
